Have you ever had that dream where you feel like you're falling. You're just about to slip into a comatose slumber when, suddenly, it feels like you're falling. It's as if you jumped off the top of the Sears Tower. The rush, the alertness you get, snaps you out of your dreamy haze. I just love feeling that sensation. It gives me a sense of what it's like to be alive.
The sky is slipping farther and farther away. I can heart the wind whistling in my ears. I can feel it flutter my hair and pass through my clothes. The windows from the buildings around me quickly fly up towards the sky to greet the sun and clouds. I turn to my left and see the confused faces of employees as a strange object resembling a woman drops past their office windows. They would all wonder out loud, "Is it a bird?" A woman in a purple blazer would think to herself, "Did someone throw a desk out of a window?"
It's really funny, when you think about it. Just a second ago, I was in my room, laying down, thinking about the stars on my ceiling. Next thing you know, I'm staring at a partly cloudy sky with the sun shining in my face, and my body drifting farther and farther from the rooftops. Just when I'm about to hit the ground, instead of breaking every bone in my body after a collision with State street, I fall onto my bed, returning safely to my room with the star-filled ceiling.
